ABORTED (BE) // Originating in the H8000 area Belgium, ABORTED have grown to become this country’s finest death metal export product. Their latest performance in Ieper, in 2009, did not go by unnoticed. Now they are back, presenting their brand new album “Global Flatline”!

AGNOSTIC FRONT (US) // The NYHC legends turn 30 in 2012! They decided to celebrate their birthday together with Ieperfest this summer. 2nd IF performance ever.

The BLACK DAHLIA MURDER (US) // Death metal kings returning to Ieperfest for the third time. Perfect band to play a birthday party, heartburn!

BOLT THROWER (UK) // One of Europe’s most influential death metal bands of all time. Playing a short run of just 3 fests this summer. Soooo proud Ieperfest is one of them!

BRUTALITY WILL PREVAIL (UK) // Down-tempo hardcore from South Wales. The lads played Ieperfest twice in 2010 (winter and summer), and hit the stage for the 3rd time in 2012. On tour with TERROR and NAYSAYER.

CATTLE DECAPITATION (US) // 100% vegetarian metal act from San Diego, California. A large number of their songs protest the mistreatment and consumption of animals, as well as the abuse of the environment. Perfect Ieperfest band!

The CHARIOT (US) // Douglasville, Georgia hardcore act formed in 2003 by ex-NORMA JEAN frontman Josh Scogin. Second time at Ieperfest, first time was in 2006.

COKE BUST (US) // Fastforward straight-edge hardcore band from Washington DC. Formed back in 2006.

CONGRESS (BE) // Triumphant return of H8000 kings CONGRESS to the stage after a hiatus of 6 years. A 20th anniversary would not be complete without the reunion of these legends. This will be the only summer festival appearance of the band and their first show in years, so don’t miss out!

CONVERGE (US) // Jacob Bannon and his troops return to Ieperfest for a second performance in three years, with a brand new release under their belt. Flagship of Deathwish Inc.

CORNERED (NL) // Dutch hardcore outfit proving Friesland is not all about farmers and ice skating. Touring Europe in April/May with BACKTRACK!

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (US) // Founded 30 years ago in Raleigh North Carolina. Many changes later, COC’s original trio is back with a self-titled release on Candlelight rcs. Iconic band, glad to have them on stage for our 20th anniversary edition!

CROWBAR (US) // New Orleans, Louisiana based legends. Best known figures in the sludge genre, as well as one of the pioneers. CROWBAR features (ex-)members of DOWN and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY.

CRUEL HAND (US) // Portland, Maine hardcore band drawing influences from CRO-MAGS, early METALLICA and MADBALL. They played the fest 2 years ago as well, so welcome back!

DARKEST HOUR (US) // Solid melodic death metal/metalcore act founded in Washington DC 17 years ago. DARKEST HOUR recently toured Europe in support of MACHINE HEAD. Heavily influenced by European metal acts such as AT THE GATES and IN FLAMES.

DEAN DIRG (DE) // German punk band that has been around since 2000. BLACK FLAG meets The HIVES. VOID meets The REATARDS. Get on your dancing shoes!

DEATH BY STEREO (US) // Orange County, California hardcore band formed 16 years ago already. After all these years, the band is still going strong and will prove it at IF summer where they will perform for the very first time.

The DEATH OF ANNA KARINA (IT) // Italian “chaos ‘n roll” band, influenced by bands like REFUSED, REVERSAL OF MAN, JR EWING and ORCHID.

DEEZ NUTS (AU) // Tonight we’re gonna party like there’s no tomorrow! ‘Nuff said. Oh yes, they are from Australia and feature JJ Peters of I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN.

DEFORMITY (BE) // Yet another legendary H8000 hardcore act resuscitated to perform at this festive edition of Ieperfest. As if CONGRESS wasn’t enough. Mosh hard, or don’t mosh at all! First show in years, wooow!!

DUKATALON (IR) // Israeli 3-piece sludge metal band that formed in 2007. Signed to Relapse rcs. First Ieperfest appearance.

EYEHATEGOD (US) // The list of legendary acts celebrating our anniversary with us just doesn’t stop! EYEHATEGOD was founded back in 1988 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They are known for their dark, sludgy riffs combined with equally dark lyrics.

FOR THE GLORY (PT) // We are pleased to welcome our Portuguese friends of FOR THE GLORY on our birthday party as well. Formed 9 years ago, this band has always done stuff DIY and are now one of the biggest hardcore bands southern Europe has to offer!

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND (UK) // Welsh post-hardcore band that has been going since 2001. Heartfelt melodies and lyrics for fans of STORY OF THE YEAR, SILVERSTEIN, etc.

GRAND MAGUS (SE) // BLACK SABBATH influenced Swedish stoner-laced doom in the
early years, evolving into straight-up early ‘80s heavy metal. Bang your head!

HELLBASTARD (UK) // UK crust punk veterans, founded back in 1985. Together with those other legends AMEBIX, they might even be the founders of crust punk as a genre.

HOMER (BE) // Hardcore injected melodic punkrock with heavy breaks, epic choruses and lyrics that deal with both personal and social-critical issues. Presenting their 4th album during their 2nd Ieperfest performance.

IGNITE (US) // Orange County, California’s most beloved punk rockers liked Ieperfest so much that they are back for a 2nd consecutive appearance. Be prepared for massive sing-a-longs!

INCANTATION (US) // One of New York’s flagships when it comes to death metal. They’ve been around for 23 years already, and this is their first ever Ieperfest appearance!

KNUCKLEDUST (UK) // One of the most important bands for London hardcore, with a strong connection to Ieperfest. Glad to have the boys back on stage for our anniversary!

KYLESA (US) // Since this Savannah, Georgia quintet first formed in early 2001, worrying about genre limitations has never been a priority. While KYLESA are as heavy as any band out there, they are beholden to no one scene. Second time at Ieperfest.

MAN VS HUMANITY (DE) // Formed in the summer of 1997, MAN VS HUMANITY called it a day 4 years later, days before they were supposed to perform at Ieperfest 2001. They reformed in 2010, and 11 years after they were first scheduled to play, they will finally be hitting the Ieperfest stage. Stoked!

MIDNIGHT SOULS (BE) // One of Belgium’s most promising hardcore acts. Check out their debut album “Going Through the Motions”!
The MONGOLOIDS (US) // Straight-edge hardcore band from Edison, New Jersey. On the road w/AGNOSTIC FRONT.

MUCKY PUP (US) // Legendary party band formed 27 years ago in Bergenfield, New Jersey. After their passage in February, they will be back in Europe this summer. Stoked!

MxPx ALLSTARS (US) // Honored to have these skate/poppunkrock veterans to play the fest for the first time. C'mon, let's go to the punkrockshow!

NAYSAYER (US) // Hardcore for fans of MADBALL and other notable NYHC alumni, hailing from Richmond, Virginia.

NEMEA (BE) // Ostend’s answer to MASTODON is set to release an EP on Kuato rcs this June. This band is full of hard-working, excellent musicians and fully deserves a slot at this year’s Ieperfest. Check them out and get into the groove!

NORMA JEAN (US) // Atlanta, Georgia metalcore/mathcore five piece formed in 2000 under the name LUTI-KRISS. They changed their name one year later to avoid confusion with rapper LUDACRIS. Life is all about fun facts

PIANOS BECOME THE TEETH (US) // Heartfelt post-rock/screamo act hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. Touring Europe in March with TOUCHE AMORE and returning in summer with BALANCE AND COMPOSURE!

PIG DESTROYER (US) // Legendary grindcore band based in Virginia. They rarely leave the States to play shows so we are extremely proud to announce they will play 2 Euro shows this summer, one of them being Ieperfest!

REIGN SUPREME (US) // Philadelphia’s hardest and heaviest. Led by former BLACKLISTED member Jay Pepito on vocals, they wield the same devastating musical hammer as bands like TERROR and INTEGRITY.

RISE AND FALL (BE) // Kings of Belgian hardcore playing Ieperfest once again, with a brand new full-length called “Faith” under their belt.

SCRAPS (FR) // Legendary Northern French HC/punk act that hasn’t been around since ages. With the idea of releasing a discography LP, also came the master plan to offer them a slot for an exclusive reunion show at Ieperfest #20. Can’t wait!!

SET YOUR GOALS (US) // California’s most loveable punk rock six piece is back. We are honored they are celebrating our 20th anniversary with us!

7 SECONDS (US) // Legendary hardcore punk band formed in 1979, fronted by the legendary Kevin Seconds. We surely wanna bet they can top the splendid set they performed at Ieperfest 2010!

SHAI HULUD (US) // When the metalcore genre was in its infancy, there were four bands that everyone was copying: The DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, CONVERGE, POISON THE WELL and SHAI HULUD. The latter were formed back in 1995 and we gladly invited them for another Ieperfest performance.

SICK OF IT ALL (US) // Oooooow shit. This is finally happening! After 20 years, NYHC legends SICK OF IT ALL are finally playing Ieperfest! Let’s make them feel like never wanting to leave Ieper again!

SKARHEAD (US) // Based in Queens, New York, SKARHEAD defines its own music as thugcore. Fronted by the legendary Lord Ezec aka DANNY DIABLO. SKARHEAD played the festival 4 years ago as well, so welcome back!

STILL X STRONG (BR) // Straight-edge hardcore from São Paulo, Brazil. Ieperfest has always had a thing for South-American hardcore acts, so cool to have one on the 20th edition of the festival as well!

A STRENGTH WITHIN (BE) // Hard working Belgian hardcore band formed 3 years ago in Leuven. This band is living proof that you don’t need a fancy booking agent to tour the world. A STRENGHT WITHIN was the first Belgian hardcore band to play shows in South-East-Asia. For fans of NO TURNING BACK, GUNS UP, NO WARNING and TERROR.

SYDNEY DUCKS (US) // San Francisco, California punk. Described by themselves as San Francisco geezers, paying homage to the sounds and the city they love! Think TEMPLARS crossed with IGNITION.

TAKE OFFENSE (US) // Chula Vista, California based hardcore band in the vein of CRO-MAGS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, etc. Recently toured Europe with TERROR and back on the road in August with AGNOSTIC FRONT and The MONGOLOIDS. Signed to Reaper rcs.

TERROR (US) // Scott Vogel himself insisted on being here to celebrate our anniversary with us! Ieper is still trembling after the TERROR show of 2009, and now they’re back to do even better!

THIS IS HELL (US) // Long Island, New York’s THIS IS HELL will not be going down in history for standing still. Formed in June 2004, they made an immediate impact on the hardcore scene and have since shown no signs of slowing down!

TOXIC HOLOCAUST (US) // Thrash! Second Ieperfest performance, after their set on Ieperfest winter 2008, when they toured with MUNICIPAL WASTE!

TRAPPED UNDER ICE (US) // Hardcore band formed 5 years ago in Baltimore, Maryland. Dark, emotional, brutal. For fans of CROWN OF THORNZ and NEXT STEP UP!

TRC (UK) // Like KNUCKLEDUST, TRC is a London based hardcore band. They formed back in 2003 and are currently signed to Siege of Amida rcs on which they released a killer album in 2011. Ieperfest first timers.

TRUTH AND ITS BURDEN (ZA) // Melodic hardcore 4-piece coming over to Europe for the 2nd time. Recently released their 2nd full-length album on Mediaskare rcs. For fans of PARKWAY DRIVE, The GHOST INSIDE, etc. First South African band ever to appear at Ieperfest!

UNEARTH (US) // From Boston Massachusetts, forming the holy trinity of US melodic metalcore together with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and AS I LAY DYING. Soooo proud they are finally playing Ieperfest!

VACCINE (US) // Negative sxe violence from Boston featuring Will of ORCHID and AMPERE fame. Releases on Clean Plate and Painkiller records!

WISDOM IN CHAINS (US) // Heavy hardcore five piece hailing from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, formed back in 2001. For fans of MADBALL, SICK OF IT ALL, BLOOD FOR BLOOD…

WHATEVER IT TAKES (BE) // DHM hardcore, featuring (ex-)members of OUTCAST, DIE MY DEMON and The BOSS who will present their brand new full-length during their 1st ever Ieperfest performance. For fans of COLD AS LIFE, FURY OF FIVE, NEXT STEP UP …

ça fait plusieurs éditions que le Ieper est ouvert au metal.

Mouais, beaucoup trop de metal la dedans, j'me ferais plutôt le Goodlife fest avec Congress, Crawalsapce et Nasty

De toute façon, Bolt Thrower et festival ((à l'origine, blabla, bon vieux temps, tout ça tout ça, je sais) hardcore sont deux idées qui, à mon sens, n'ont absolument rien de contradictoires. Hatebreed y aurait moins sa place.
